ATLANTIS: CRITICAL STUDIES IN GENDER, CULTURE, AND SOCIAL JUSTICE / ATLANTIS: ÉTUDES CRITIQUES SUR LE GENRE, LA CULTURE, ET LA JUSTICE SOCIALE
At the AGM in 2004, Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture, and Social Justice / Études critiques sur le genre, la culture, et la justice sociale (formerly Atlantis: A Women's Studies Journal / Revue d'etudes sur les femmes) (new name as of May 2012) was adopted as the "journal of choice" of the association. This more visible relationship between the two organizations was meant to recognize, solildfy, and formalize a number of connections that had been in place for awhile, and establish a base upon which to build more connections in the future.
Atlantis: Critical Studies in Gender, Culture, and Social Justice / Études critiques sur le genre, la culture, et la justice sociale
(formerly Atlantis: A Women's Studies Journal / Revue d'etudes sur les femmes) is a scholarly research journal devoted to critical work in a variety of formats that reflects current scholarship in and approaches to the discipline of Women's and Gender Studies. It incorporates a diversity of feminist, anti-racist and critical identity, intersectional, and transnational approaches to a wide range of contemporary issues, topics, and knowledges. Atlantis is dedicated to the ongoing growth of knowledge in the field of Women's and Gender Studies as well as to critical reflection on the field itself. Atlantis is published twice a year and only considers previously unpublished materials (i.e. not currently in the public domain, either in print or electronic form). It accepts submissions in both English and French.
As of issue 36.1, Atlantis has moved to an open access electronic format, housed at Mount Saint Vincent University. For more information on this exciting change to the journal, in addition to online access to past journals, please see the new website for the journal.
